There are worse things that could happen to Delta Airlines and McCarran International Airport than Richard Dunn and his recent viral video. Dunn was voluntarily stranded at the Las Vegas airport and decided to make an incredible iPhone video of his overnight stay in a deserted airport–one of the world’s busiest.
Had Dunn not been voluntarily bumped (and compensated), this video could have taken a turn south pretty quickly. But the stranded traveler decided to do what more people should do when things go wrong–look at the bright side and have some fun. To Dunn’s benefit, he had some time…and some talent.
Is this a golden opportunity for both Delta Airlines and McCarran International Airport? Can Delta highlight how their passengers are the best, even when things do not go as planned? Can McCarran highlight some of the amenities (albeit closed) at the airport or the cleanliness?
An old axiom says that when life hands you lemons, yo make lemonade. It would be a shame to let this piece of brilliance go to waste.
